For those of you who don’t know who I am, my name is Kristine Wirth and it was nearly 8 years ago that I first got interested in SEO and online marketing. It still amazes me that it was that long ago. And boy have things changed!

I was just like you, your typical day-to-day average worker, getting up in the morning and heading off to a job that I knew I didn’t want to do for the rest of my life.

As fate would have it, my entire department was laid off and before I knew it, I was out of a job. I had been working very part-time on my own at home doing some website programming with a local web-design firm but it just wasn’t paying the bills, at least no where near what I was getting paid at my J.O.B.

I finally realized that I had to do something for myself. After all, income wasn’t just going to appear out of nowhere.

So I started developing my own sites, following advice after advice online as to how to get it found in the search engines only to fail time after time for months. After finally realizing that was I was learning wasn’t working, and after months of researching and testing, I finally understood what it was that I was missing.

I had been listening to all of the wrong people and just going at my website “ad hoc” that is, I would use an idea that came from who knows where, usually a message board somewhere, use it and have nothing happen with my site.

When I finally realized that SEO was an actual process and not just a matter of running around blindly implementing ideas, I finally started to see results.

Results so amazing in fact, that I ended up on the first page of Yahoo for a highly competitive term that had over 38,000,000 websites competing for it. And I did this all while raising a child to boot.

The bottom line is, I am just like you. I have a family, am a work-at-home Mom and run errands just like everyone else. So if I can do this with my hectic life, being laid off from a job, raising a child and working from home, so can you. And to top it off, you don’t have to go through all of the troubleshooting like I did.
